The Lake Isle of Innisfree by William Bulter Yeats

I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made;
Nine bean rows will I have there, a hive for the honey bee,
And live alone in the bee-loud glade.

And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;
There midnight’s all a-glimmer, and noon a purple glow,
And evening full of the linnet’s wings.

I will arise and go now, for always night and day
I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore,
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements gray,
I hear it in the deep heart’s core.

What is the significance of the poem to him and Maggie? Do you notice any transformation or change of the relationship between Frankie and Maggie? What is it? And what might contribute to the change?

Answer: I think the theme of this poem is a person who has many stresses in his life and he/ she recounts an ideal place he/ she wants to move in. And the reason why Frankie chose the poem to read, I thought that’s because Maggie injured very serious. And at that time, both Frankie and Maggie were under a bad mood, the world in their eyes was gray. Because Frankie wanted Maggie to be happy and get better soon, he read " The Lake Isle of Innisfree" to her.
To talk about the transformation of the relationship between Frankie and Maggie, it really a big change for sure. At first, Frankie was discriminatory to Maggie because she was kind of old for the wrestling and didn’t have good skills. But after he training Maggie, he treated her like his daughter. And the reason contributed to the change might be that Frankie saw the heart of firm from Maggie. And it touched him. And that’s why the relationship between change.
